Cyprus 3

Ruins at Salamis

Salamis was the most important city in ancient Cyprus, and the ruins there are very impressive today. The structures were built during the Roman period, and the site included a forum, basilica, amphitheatre, baths, and gymnasium. Pictured in the foreground of this central image is one of the baths. I extended some of the lines beyond the image and collaged in bits of paper with Latin text and images of Roman coins.
