Women's Worship I

The mosques of Istanbul are wonderful places that are rich in history, beauty and wonder. I came upon these three women in silent worship, and was struck by the atmosphere which enveloped me. Because I did not want to use a flash in the mosques, most of the photos I took while inside lacked sufficient lighting. I portrayed the unseen decorative glory of this particular mosque by painting images on the dusky walls, and indicating some of the mosaic tile work in the window panes.
